🐞 Ladybug Family — Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 21, 2026
Short version: Ladybug Family has no accounts and does not collect your legal name, email, or any personal information you'd type in. Your progress and hearts live on your own device. If you join the worldwide Top Foragers board, the 3-letter initials and score you submit are shown publicly — that's the whole point, and it's the only thing you can publish. The Android app shows optional rewarded ads through Google AdMob. It requests non-personalized ads and does not request Android's Advertising ID permission. The site may show ads through Google AdSense.
Information we do NOT collect
Data stored on your device
The game saves the following in local storage on your browser or device, so your progress survives between visits or app launches. It stays on your device except for the leaderboard submission and anonymous signals described below:
- Your best food total and level progress
- Your banked hearts (lives) and the initials you last used
- An offline copy of the leaderboard, used only when the shared board is unreachable
Clearing your browser data or deleting the app removes this local data.
The worldwide leaderboard
Anonymous counters
When a fresh flight starts, the game sends a single anonymous signal to our server that increments
a global "games played" counter. It contains only the words ladybug-family — no personal
information and no device identifier. Completed purchases increment an equally anonymous sales
counter server-side. If the game ever crashes, it reports the error message (never anything about
you) so we can fix it.
Purchases
Optional heart packs on the website are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own checkout page — we never see or store your card details. Android app purchases go through Google Play, which processes payment and transaction information under its own policy. See Stripe's privacy policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
Ads (Android app)
The Android app shows optional, opt-in rewarded ads through Google AdMob: you may
choose to watch a short video to earn hearts. Ads are never forced and there are no banner ads. The
app requests non-personalized, G-rated ads and removes Android's
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission, so it does not request the Android
Advertising ID. Google's Mobile Ads SDK may still process standard ad-request information such as
device or app information, approximate location derived from network information, and diagnostics
under Google's policies. The Happy Pixel Company does not receive your name or contact information
from those ad requests.
Ads (website)
The site may show ads served by Google AdSense — including optional watch-a-video-for-hearts rewarded ads, which are never forced. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads, and depending on your settings and region those cookies may personalize ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Beyond this we run no ad networks of our own.
Children's privacy
Ladybug Family is family-friendly, but because the site and mobile app can serve general-audience ads it is not designed or directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us at the address below.
Delete your data
You can delete progress, hearts, saved initials, and the offline leaderboard copy stored on your
device at any time. On Android, open Settings > Apps > Ladybug Family > Storage >
Clear data. On the website, clear the site data for ladybugfamily.online in your
browser.
To delete an entry you submitted to the worldwide Top Foragers leaderboard, email 1schadhoffman@gmail.com with the subject Ladybug Family data deletion. Include the 3-letter initials shown on the board and, if you know them, the approximate score and level so we can identify the correct entry. We will delete the matching leaderboard entry within 30 days and reply when it is complete.
Anonymous play and purchase counters and anonymous error reports contain no account, device identifier, or other value that lets us connect them to a particular player, so an individual record cannot be located for deletion. Payment and advertising providers keep and delete any information they process according to their own privacy and legal-retention policies.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new date.
